Austin Chamber Music Festival strikes a chord with world-class talent

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Chamber Music Festival is back for its 29th season, promising to bring world-class talent to the heart of Texas. Artistic Director Sandy Yamamoto, along with musicians Matthew Zalkind and Julio Elizalde, shared insights into this summer’s exciting lineup, which includes a dynamic opening concert by the Yamazalde Trio.

Yamamoto said the festival is set to offer a rich tapestry of performances that will captivate audiences. “We have been presenting world-class chamber music for the past 40 years,” she said, “We are very excited to be presenting because we feel like we present intimate chamber music concerts. Where the audience feels like they’re part of the whole experience.”

Matthew Zalkind expressed his excitement about participating in the festival. “Whether this is the first time you’ve seen a concert like this or you’re a seasoned chamber music lover. Everybody gets something out of this experience, and we really encourage everybody to come and join for this really unique opportunity,” he said.

Julio Elizalde added, “For us, you know, this is not just about performing. This is about telling powerful stories. And especially to work our hardest to make sure that the audience can come together and experience a once-in-a-lifetime moment, live in the full electricity. “

For those eager to attend, the festival promises an unforgettable experience filled with music and camaraderie.

“We are going to be presenting the classics like Beethoven, some cutting-edge new music. We even have music by Taylor Swift. So we have something for everyone. There’s something for everyone, for sure,” concluded Yamamoto.
