Big Turn Music Festival is Feb. 14-15 in Red Wing | Local News


Big Turn Music Fest is the can’t-miss community event of the season, with more than 100 regional and local artists performing in local businesses on Feb. 14-15. Area residents won’t want to miss this memorable celebration of music, community, and creativity.

Performances run from 5 p.m. to midnight both days and are held at various community spaces and businesses throughout the community.

Passes may be bought online at bigturnmusicfest.com or day-of at the Sheldon Theatre.

Festival highlights include:

● Jazz Club Friday Featuring Tyreek McDole: Kick off the weekend with Tyreek McDole, whose smooth jazz vocals and dynamic stage presence promise an unforgettable evening at the Jazz Club hosted at the Sheldon Theatre.

● Saturday with Dessa: Don’t miss Dessa, the renowned rapper, singer, and poet, bringing her signature blend of sharp lyrics and captivating melodies to the stage on Saturday.

● RED Talks:Booking 101 at 3 PM on Saturday at St. James with Sam Brown (Big Turn), Shantel Dow (Sheldon), and David Priebe (Fave Son)! Festival organizers and local artists will discuss music business best practices. Learn from their experiences and connect through their stories.

● Activities Galore on Saturday 2/15:

• Mark Twain OUTLOUD brings a literary historic perspective of the river. Catch it at Mandy’s Coffee & Cafe at 4 p.m. Saturday

• Cribbage tournaments at the Elks Lodge for some friendly competition.

• Karaoke at Home Plate Grill to let your inner star shine.

• Pancake Breakfast at the Elks Lodge: Fuel up before the music begins.

• Bingo at the American Legion: A fun and classic way to enjoy the festival.

● Trolley Rides: Enjoy convenient transportation from 5 PM to 12:30 AM, with stops at the Sheldon Theatre, Elks Lodge, St. James Hotel, and the West End. Explore Red Wing’s vibrant restaurants, stores and hotels with ease!

● Pick up some merch: whether you need an iconic beanie or some made-to-order Big Turn merch, the Creative Hand has you covered!

● Big Turn Bloody: A festive twist on your favorite classic, available at select bars and restaurants.

Big Turn Music Fest continues to emphasize local involvement, bringing together businesses, volunteers, and music lovers for a weekend of unity and celebration. Sam Brown, the festival’s founder and director, shared his excitement:
