Buckfest Music Festival donates £10,000 to local charities

The donations were presented to 10 charities, groups, and individuals at the festival’s annual ‘thank you’ party on September 27.

Its two main charity partners, Three Pillars Feeding the Homeless and Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN), each received £2,250.

Dreamdrops, the festival’s chosen charity for 2025, was given £2,000 to fund music therapy sessions.

Other beneficiaries included Buckden Explorers, who received £750, and St Neots Man Cave, The Angels Foundation, All Inclusive Football, and Buckden Bowls Club, each receiving £500.

St Mary’s Church in Buckeden was given £250, and the same amount was donated to a fundraiser for Cat Richards, a singer battling a rare form of cancer.

Ms Richards is in the band ‘Dexter’, which headlined Buckfest 2023, and she requires life-saving treatment in the US.

Aside from these donations, the festival also sponsored barrels of beer and cider at the recent Buckden Scouts beer festival.

This year’s total donation of more than £10,000 brings the total amount donated by Buckfest since 2009 to more than £125,000.

A Buckfest spokesperson said: “The impact of Buckfest on the local community is clear for all to see – as well as the donations which are so vital to local charities and groups, Buckfest also showcases local bands and artistes and brings significant income into Buckden Village Club and the local economy.”

The festival is looking for volunteers and sponsors for 2026.
