The popular Daresbury-based festival welcomes 70,000 music fans every year on the August bank holiday.
According to FOI data obtained by Get Licensed, the festival has had 102 festivalgoers get arrested at the annual music event between 2022 and 2024.
This sees the festival have the second highest arrest rate in the UK, with 1.5 arrests per 1,000 attendees.
In 2022, 38 arrests were made at the musical, followed by 27 in 2023 and 37 in 2024.
The most common offences committed by festival goers were drug offences, with 86 being made in relation to drugs in that time.
Every year, festival goers are sentenced at Chester Crown Court in relation to possession of drugs and intent to supply at the music festival.
Amnesty bins are placed at the front of the festival, and attendees are searched upon entry.
“A conscious effort was made to target and take action against those who were intent on supplying illegal substances at the festival – before and during the event,” said superintendent Sarah Heath, who led the policing operation for Creamfields 2024.
“With officers conducting pre-event site searches, the use of surrender bins, along with an extensive search process by security personnel at entrances to the site.”
Creamfields’ arrest ratio was second only to Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, in Scotland, which had a staggering 4.7 arrests per 1,000 attendees.
Despite being the biggest festival in the UK and recording a total of 116 arrests between 2022 and 2024, Glastonbury was only ninth on the list due to the fact it has a capacity of 210,000.
