BRAINERD — The curtain rises on the Lakes Area Music Festival’s 17th season with its most glamorous night of the year — the annual gala Friday, July 25, at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts in Brainerd.
This year’s season-opening celebration, titled “Spellbound,” promises a night of music, Broadway brilliance and community support for the festival’s artistic and educational mission.
Headlining the evening are Meghan Picerno (“The Phantom of the Opera”) and Andrea Ross (“The Sound of Music”), who will join conductor Christian Reif and the Lakes Area Music Festival Symphony Orchestra in a performance blending theater and orchestra.
“Each summer we bring world-class artistry to our community, and the gala is our opportunity to celebrate that with a spectacular kickoff,” Scott Lykins, LAMF executive and artistic director, said in a news release. “It’s a chance to come together in support of the musicians who bring such transformative experiences to the lakes area.”
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by a three-course wine dinner. At 8 p.m., the gala performance will begin, which will include a live auction.
Proceeds from the gala will support LAMF’s year-round performances, youth education programs and community engagement initiatives.
Premium dinner packages include reserved concert seating, personalized experiences with LAMF musicians and unique recognition opportunities.
