Man charged after more than 100 fake festival tickets allegedly sold

The investigation began when police were called to Sussex Street in Cabramatta to reports of an assault just after 5pm on Monday, September 29.

Police were told a group of people had gathered at the location to try to get a refund after a number of fake tickets to a music festival were allegedly sold on social media.

A short time later, the crowd was dispersed, and police arrested a 20-year-old man at a Sussex Street home.

He was charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000.

He was bailed to attend court on October 8.
