NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The cancer awareness organization, Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), funds cancer research. This August, Nashville will host their ninth Roadblock Fundraising Special.
The special will be at The Pinnacle, a live music venue located within the Nashville Yards, on Friday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.
The one-hour event will include stories from cancer survivors as well as special guests, including singer Sheryl Crow as one of the hosts, and Dolly Parton as one of the performers. Other special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
“The goal of Stand Up To Cancer has always been about working collaboratively to push cancer research forward so we could help patients as quickly as possible,” saidKatie Couric, SU2C co-founder. “Nearly two decades later, it’s incredibly gratifying and inspiring to see the impact of this research. Bringing the show toNashvillewill infuse new energy and excitement into our mission. There’s still so much work to do, and every dollar makes a difference—especially to the families who are counting on novel approaches and therapies as they face the challenges that often accompany a cancer diagnosis.”
SU2C unites country music with cancer research, engaging communities in spreading awareness. To donate and for more information, please visit their website.
