The King and Queen pub to host free music festival

The King and Queen was taken over by new landlady Michaela Goodier in January, who wanted to bring a ‘community feel’ to the pub.

As part of that mission, the pub has been hosting open mic nights – which sparked a new idea.

On Saturday July 12, the King and Queen, on Padgate Lane, will be hosting its first music festival.

Starting at 11am, the event will run until 11pm and is completely free for everyone to enjoy.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult and leave by 9pm.

Performers of all ages and genres will take to the stage, including Pete Sarge Frampton, Keith Walsh and What’s Up Doc.

“On the day, everybody will have something to listen to,” said Michaela.

“It’s going to hopefully become a massive hit.”

Michaela hopes that the festival will prove to be popular, and already hopes to make it an annual event at the pub.
