The Open Camping Village
Almost 5,000 people from at least 31 countries are parking up in The Open’s bohemian-styled Camping Village throughout this week, with most of them hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite golfers bright and early.
Shuttle buses from the area to Royal Portrush start at 5.45am on Thursday morning — the first official day of the tournament — and campers have described the site as being similar to a music festival but with a more “civilised” feel.
