What to Know for 2025

CANANDAIGUA, NY — Here are the basics of the three-day Canandaigua Art & Music Festival, one of the more popular summer activities in Canandaigua and the Finger Lakes region.

The 37th annual downtown Canandaigua event opens from noon to 7 p.m. July 18 and continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 19 and July 20.

There’s more than enough activities, demonstrations and music to fill out your weekend. Here’s what’s happening.

Special art activities during Canandaigua Art & Music Festival

The festival will include juried artists from around the country in over 12 mediums. Demonstrations of glass flaming, candle making, woodworking and painting are planned.

Here’s a fun new activity for this year’s event. Paint the Pickup, which is sponsored by Maguire Auto, will give visitors the opportunity to showcase their talent and paint a Ford pickup that will remain on display through September.

Visitors can also take part in the Butterfly & Bloom Public Art Trail. Find all 18 butterflies and be registered to win $500 in downtown business gift certificates.

The Golden Palette Art Trail will also be taking place. Pick up a free passport and map at the festival information table at 115 S. Main St. or any shop with a golden palette displayed by the entryway. Follow the trail to the Golden Palette stops to find a wide variety of special events, plus original art, fine craft, classes, services and unique gift items. Visit all the stops and enter to win over $1,000 worth of gift certificates, original art, art supplies, wine, musical instruments, jewelry, flamed glass pieces, candles, and more.

Artists, crafters and more to see at Canandaigua Art & Music Festival

There will be well over 150 places, including downtown businesses, to stop and enjoy.

This year’s juried event introduces a record number of new artists to the festival and welcomes back select artists from the past. Vendors will display their wares along Main Street for festival guests to browse and shop as they please.

Artwork falls into various categories, including all-natural products, drawing, fiber, glass, gourmet foods, jewelry, mixed media, photography, sculpture, and woodworking.
