Yangon kicks off 4-day Thadingyut Market Fair and Music Festival

The opening ceremony of the 2025 Thadingyut market fair and music festival was held at People’s Square in Yangon yesterday.
The event was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Region Chief Justice, Yangon Command Deputy Commander, departmental officials, relevant officials from UMFCCI and its sister associations, industrial zones, MSME entrepreneurs, SME entrepreneurs, officials of MSME by G3G App, Weday Online App, ethnic people and invitees.
In his opening speech, the region chief minister talked about the intention of the event to offer a chance to the people to buy the products at cheap prices, enjoy the entertainment, the emergence of new and export quality products through good competitive manners by the sellers and the development of MSME in the local area more than before.
After the ceremonial procedures, he presented a cash prize to the ethnic dance troupes.

The event will take place from 8 am to 10 pm from 4 to 7 October, featuring more than 620 stalls that will sell products from industrial zones, MSME businesses, the Small Scale Industries Department, the Cooperative Department, Yangon Region Investment Committee, UMFCCI, Myanmar Rice Federation, different regions and states, along with food stalls and restaurants in Yangon Region.
During the festival, there will be food donations and performances by well-known artistes from the film, theatrical, and music industries. Shuttle buses will be provided to facilitate transport for festival-goers. There will be beautiful floral displays, decorative lights, and fireworks, and everyone can joyfully join and participate in the occasion. — MNA/KTZH
