Las Vegas (KSNV) — Nevada’s Zero Fatalities Program is hooking up attendees of the When We Were Young music festival on October 18 and 19 with discounted Lyft rides.
In partnership with the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) and Lyft, they’re giving away $2,500 in free ride credits to encourage people to use rideshare instead of driving under the influence.
From 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, until 6 a.m. on Monday, October 20, the first 500 riders in Las Vegas can snag $10 off their ride by using the code RIDESAFEOCT in the Lyft app or by clicking the link provided, while supplies last.
As of September 30, there have been 277 deaths on Nevada roads, with impairment and speeding identified as leading contributing factors.
As large crowds are expected for the event, Zero Fatalities reminds everyone to prioritize safe driving and to choose ridesharing when consuming alcohol.
Choosing a rideshare instead of getting behind the wheel can really make a difference and save lives.
