The Electronic Travel Authorization, eTA which St Kitts and Nevis implemented on May 26, 2025 has been crucial in managing the footfall of tourists and travellers during the St kitts Music Festival. The eTA has successfully accomplished the role of a secure digital gateway for travellers.
The Music Festival welcomed a record number of travelers in the week leading up to the Music Festival. This year’s St Kitts Music festival is one of the most successful stagings of the event.
During this time, the digital gateway helped make the travel to the island much easier to plan. The travellers have been able to plan their trip well in advance and finish the formalities online before entering the island.
This has helped make travel seamless for the people wanting to visit the island for the summer events. The Tourism Authority of St Kitts and Nevis has shared that 7,711 passengers arrived into St Kitts and Nevis during the Music Festival week.
Between June 21 to June 28, the air and sea arrivals to the island were one of the highest in the time period. The Ministry of tourism has shared that they are delighted to see that the programme has been so successful.
The number has seen an increase of more than 3500. Notably, during the same period, in the year 2023, the recorded number of air and sea arrivals was 4,429.
The Prime Minister shared his views on this welcome development. Notably, he was delighted to see the jump in tourism footfall in the country during the music festival.
The Prime Minister also said that this is proof of the fact that digitization of the entry process can make a difference. Dr Drew said that innovation and strategic planning has helped in improving visitor experience for people visiting the island.
The eTA has helped in ensuring that the people seeking to travel to the island can enter the federation seamlessly. At the same time, the eTA also seeks to make sure that the safety of the locals is not compromised.
