Free shuttles to Intertidal Music Festival for Prince Rupert, Port Edward residents

Buses will run all day during the event to ensure a smooth and enjoyable festival weekend

As the Intertidal Music Festival is set to return after a six-year hiatus, Prince Rupert is ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy its revival.

Tourism Prince Rupert, in partnership with Santana Professional, the North Pacific Cannery and major sponsor Pacific Terminals, put together a three-day event of local and visiting performers, artisan markets, food vendors and activities for the whole family to enjoy. The festival will take place at the cannery from July 18-20 and free shuttles will be running all day for a smooth and enjoyable weekend.

Three shuttle buses will run on a continuous loop from the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre to the North Pacific Canary, as there is no parking at the festival. Shuttles start at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There will be no staff on site and wait times may be up to 30 minutes as buses complete the loop.

The shuttles will also stop in Port Edward near Alder Ave. and Skeena Dr.

Drop-offs and pick ups up will be allowed at the festival up to a maximum wait time of five minutes.

Jaimie Angus, executive director of Tourism Prince Rupert, said the energy in the community surrounding the return of the festival has been incredible.

“We’re working hard to make this revival a memorable experience that truly captures the coastal spirit of Prince Rupert, she said. “We can’t wait to welcome festival-goers back to the Cannery.”
