PELHAM – Pelham’s newest green space made a strong first impression this summer as families gathered for food, music and fun at Music at Park 124 on Thursday, June 26. The free event marked the debut of a new seasonal series at Park 124, located at 2408 Pelham Parkway, and drew residents of all ages for a memorable night outdoors.

With live music from Blue Moon Duet, bounce houses and balloon artists in the Kids Zone and food offerings like Pollo Goyo, Summer Snow Pelham and Valhalla Board Game Café, the event delivered on its promise of community-wide fun.

“We’re bringing the community together for a day of free, family-friendly fun,” said Alicia Walters, Assistant Director of Pelham Parks and Rec. “All ages were welcome, and we saw families relaxing, kids playing and neighbors connecting. That’s exactly what this park was designed for.”

After the success of the June event, Pelham Parks and Rec and The Pelham BEAT are already preparing for the next installment. Music at Park 124 will return on Saturday, September 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., with a performance by Finding North, along with bounce houses, games, balloon art and more food truck fare.

“It didn’t take long after the June event to set the next date,” Walters said. “We’re so excited to build on that energy and continue offering free opportunities for the community to come together.”

Park 124 has quickly become a local favorite. Tucked behind Campus 124, the space blends natural serenity with flexible features like shaded walking trails, a spacious pavilion and a large open greenspace that’s ideal for public events.

“Park 124 is a peaceful retreat that captures the serenity of nature,” Walters said. “It invites visitors to relax, explore and connect.”

The park is also part of a long-term vision to enhance walkability and accessibility in Pelham, eventually linking into the city’s Greenway Trail expansion.

Events like Music at Park 124 are expected to happen three to five times a year, providing recurring opportunities for residents to gather and enjoy the outdoors together.

“We truly value partnerships like the one we have with Campus 124 and The Pelham BEAT,” Walters added. “These relationships help us create fun, meaningful events that bring people together.”

With bounce houses, music, games and food trucks, the next Music at Park 124 is shaping up to be another can’t-miss evening. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, settle in and enjoy the night with friends and neighbors.

“Let’s make it another night to remember at Park 124,” Walters said.
