State Dept Cancels Visas for Band After ‘Death to IDF’ Chant

The State Department has revoked visas for members of the British punk-rap duo Bob Vylan after they led the crowd in chanting “Death to the IDF” during their performance at Glastonbury music festival in England

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau confirmed the visa cancellations in a post on X, warning that “foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.”

The group’s frontman, Pascal Robinson-Foster, had been due to tour the U.S. this autumn with Canadian-American artist Grandson.

During the band’s on-stage performance at Glastonbury’s West Holts Stage over the weekend, Robinson-Foster led the crowd in chants of “Free Palestine” and “Death to the IDF.”

The State Department decision follows a firestorm of backlash in both Washington and Westminster. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) called the chant “truly sick” and blasted it as coming from “the base of the Democrat Party,” and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as “appalling.”

The BBC, which streamed the performance live and is subject to an investigation by media regulator Ofcom over the broadcast, admitted Monday it “should have pulled” the feed, calling the comments “utterly unacceptable” and “antisemitic.”

Meanwhile, according to Deadline, United Talent Agency has dropped the band, removing them from its official roster.

Despite the fallout, Robinson-Foster remained unrepentant.

“I said what I said,” he said in a statement defending his remarks as part of a call to change foreign policy.
