MUSICIANS are tuning up for Stratford on Avon Music Festival.
The festival, which has been running since 1996, will this year feature jazz, classical and even some spooky sounds, from October 28 to 31.
The One and Only Alan Barnes, in association with Stratford Jazz, kicks off the festival at Boston Tea Party in St Gregory’s Hall, on Henley Street on October 28.
The Soundbites concert, presented by the Friends of the Music of Holy Trinity Church, will see teenage violin virtuoso Joshua Tan, accompanied by Colin Millington, performing Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 at
Holy Trinity Church on October 29.
The Four Seasons with David Le Page and the Orchestra of the Swan will feature Vivaldi’s Four Sseasons, Corelli’s Concerto Grosso opus 6 No 4, Pachelbel’s Canon, Purcell’s Chaconne and Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor at the Town Hall on October 30.

Spooky Tunes & Witchy Whispers – A Halloween Concert Adventure at Teh Croft School will close the festival on October 31. The relaxed, interactive concert for little ghouls and their grown ups will feature live musicians, vocals, and a playful Halloween twist. Children will help solve the mystery of the wicked witch, sing along with spooky songs, and enjoy a midday of magical music.
